George is Retiring

Hi all in George’s maths classes,

After reaching 70 years of age and teaching in St Brigid’s Resource Centre in Killester since 2004, I am retiring. After thoughtful consideration, I have determined this is the right time.

I’m leaving with mixed emotions. I will miss everything that has to do with interacting with my students. In my classroom, learning was a two-way street. I learned a lot from my students. They challenged me to think differently and adapt my methodology to suit their needs. I want to thank them for this as I also learned a lot about how to teach maths better. I passed on many of their ideas to many other maths teachers.

I’ve had a great time teaching maths to all of you.

My wish for all of you is that you have a rewarding and passionate future.
